A few years ago on a hot end-of-summer day, my wife and I attended a Celtic Festival in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA. It was there that she bought me my first kilt (American made). I wore it then and there (put my regular pants in a bag) and felt extremely comfortable. She promised to make me a set of flashes, which she did;.....that was the beginning of my love affair with kilts and everything "kiltish". Since that time, I had increased my kilt wardrobe with three other kilts (all American made, with flashes included). Then came the historical day I ventured onto the Scotweb site. I took the plunge and ordered a casual 5 yard Balmoral kilt (made in my family tartan) and, of course, ordered matching flashes. WOW,...was I happy. I've already ranted and raved about the kilt in a separate review (see Reviews: 5 yard casual Balmoral kilt,...it's there), but didn't realize that I could do the same about the flashes I ordered. These flashes are very well made with the same 16 oz. wool that my kilt was made from. The difference between the flashes I already had and these new ones from Scotweb was like drinking a watered down, cheap Scotch compared to an aged, single malt Scotch whisky. NO COMPARISON!!!!! Ya gotta get the good stuff. Don't even think about it. These Scotweb flahes are the best.
