The word quaich comes from the Gaelic "cuach" for cup and is traditionally used to serve whisky or brandy. Sir Walter Scott was famous for dispensing wee drams to his guests in silver inlaid quaichs.

Whether you plan to welcome guests to your home with a bit of warming whisky, or even if you just appreciate the fine traditionalism, this wood and pewter lined quaich is a superb addition to any home.

Quaichs make very beautiful and unusual gifts and nothing makes a gift more special than an engraving. This product can be engraved, using Times New Roman font.

Tradition of the Quaich

quiach /kwex/ pronounced: kw-ay-ch
derived from Gaelic cuach 'cup'

It is hard to guess from its appearance exactly what a quaich is. Indeed, you'd be forgiven for thinking that it was a small decorative bowl with little other purpose, beyond being aesthetically pleasing. In fact, the quaich has a much more interesting beginning than that of a posh ornament.

Customer Reviews

From Scotweb
Since both my husband and I were so pleased with my first purchase from Scotweb, I decided to see if I could find something
to give my husband for our 5th anniversary. Since the traditional gift was wood, and the modern gift was silverware, I decided
on the Wood & Pewter Quaich. I even had it engraved. We have never seen anything like this item. Beautiful doesn't even come
close to describing it. Yet another fabulous purchase from Scotweb.

From Scotweb
I chose to use the Scotweb store because of it's good prices and easy to navigate website. I was not disappointed. Trying to get a rush order of Scottish gifts for friends in Texas before leaving the USA was easy and stress-free. All customer care staff were more than helpful, courteous and responded quickly to questions. My order arrived BEFORE the date promised, in good condition and exactly as I had seen online. There were no surprises.
I highly recommend the Scotweb store and commend their staff for excellent customer care.
