The semi-formal Braemar tweed day / evening jacket is similar in most ways to the Argyll, but with Prince Charlie style cuffs for a more formal look. The iconic tweed provides a stylish alternative to barathea wool. Tailored from top quality 13 oz cloth, this jacket will flatter any shape. The Braemar jacket is produced to traditional standards to keep its fit for many years to come.

How we make it: Our Braemar jackets are made from top quality 13oz 100% pure new wool tweed cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes. All buttons have washer and ring fittings.

When to wear it: The Braemar is popular for being a very versatile jacket. The formality of the jacket can be changed by altering accessories, so it is suitable for all sorts of occasions, such as dinners and Burns Suppers; balls, ceilidhs or other dances; weddings, graduations, or christenings; as well as Highland games or simply as general daywear.

What to wear it with: Wear it during the daytime with a kilt in any tartan, a daywear sporran, and an ordinary shirt and tie. As more formal dress for evening events the Braemar jacket is best worn with a wing collared shirt and bow tie, plus semi-dress sporran, and ghillie brogues. Like the Argyll, the Braemar jacket is generally worn open.

Your Choices: Imitation Bone buttons.

Customer Reviews

From Scotweb
This beautifully made jacket arrived within a week (although I did spring for the express shipping). Now I have an alternative for when I don't need to be full "black tie". To my happy surprise, a vest was included even though not listed on the original offer. Thanks for great service and a great jacket.

I bought this jacket in Charcoal. The service from Scotweb was first class. It is perfect for day wear as well as semi formal occasions. I wear this jacket when piping for weddings performed during the day. It gives a polished look to the occasion while not being too formal.

Here I am outside church wearing the blue braemar jacket, though on this occasion, not wearing the waistcoat I also purchased. The quality is very good and worth the lead time.
