This item is part of the Archibald Knox collection. 1854 - 1933: Influenced by the countryside and ancient stone crosses in his Isle of Man home, Knox minimalized the traditional Celtic knot work to create the subtle and simple lines symbolic of the English Art Nouveau Movement.

Ortak was the first of the dozen or so fine jewellery firms for which the Orkney Islands are now renowned. The manufacturing base remains in the island's capital, the Royal and Ancient Burgh of Kirkwall, producing beautiful jewellery which is sold and admired worldwide.
