The made to measure Prince Charlie Jacket and Vest has a formal and timeless style. Cut slightly higher than other jackets, the Prince Charlie is designed to flatter any shape whilst keeping the full length of kilt on display.
How it is made: The Prince Charlie jackets and vests are made from top quality Barathea 100% pure new wool cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes.
When to wear it: The classic Prince Charlie 'Coatee' Jacket and Vest is the traditional outfit for 'black tie' formal evening wear. It is suitable for events such as dinners, balls, or dances. It is also widely worn at daytime weddings and graduations.
What to wear it with: The Prince Charlie is traditionally worn with an 8 yard kilt in any tartan, a sporran, off-white socks, and ghillie brogues. Most do not wear a belt with the Prince Charlie, as the buckle can cause the vest to lie badly.
Your Choices: The choice of lapel is a matter of taste, but if in doubt the satin finish is popular.
