This semi-formal day / evening jacket is similar to the Argyll, but with Prince Charlie style cuffs for a more formal look. With tailoring to exact specifications for a perfect fit, this jacket will keep its shape and stay flattering.
How we make it: The Braemar jacket is made from top quality Barathea 100% pure new wool cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes with shiny silver (nickelplated) finished buttons. All buttons have washer and ring fittings.
When to wear it: Popular for being very versatile, the formality of the Braemar jacket can be altered by changing accessories. This makes it suitable for all sorts of occasions, such as dinners and Burns Suppers; balls, ceilidhs or other dances; weddings, graduations, or christenings; as well as Highland games or simply as general daywear.
What to wear it with: Wear it during the daytime with a kilt in any tartan, a day wear sporran, and an ordinary shirt and tie. For a more formal look wear with a wing collared shirt and bow tie, plus semi-dress sporran, and ghillie brogues. Like the Argyll, the Braemar jacket is generally worn open.
