All tailored Argyll jackets are made from top quality Barathea 100% pure new wool cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes. All buttons have washer and ring fittings.
When to wear it: The Argyll day/evening jacket suits almost any social occasion, such as dinners and Burns Suppers; balls, ceilidhs or other dances; weddings, graduations, or christenings; as well as Highland games or simply as general day wear.
What to wear it with: The Argyll jacket is generally worn open, with a kilt in any tartan, and a belt and buckle. For daytime use wear the Argyll jacket with an ordinary shirt and tie plus day-wear sporran. For more formal dress fwear with a wing collar shirt and bow tie plus semi-dress sporran, and ghillie brogues.

The argyll jacket in black barathea is a very well made jacket, the stitching is beautifully done, the buttons are perfect, all pockets are actual functional pockets with inside pockets also and the braiding on the epaulettes is very neat and well finished. I honestly could not ask for more, often, looking at highland dress in a country other than Scotland I come across some shabby, poorly finished garments - this one is perfect. Wore it to a formal function and found that my jacket was more beautifully finished than many of the expensive suit jackets being worn - well done Scotweb, a truly first class product at great price!
Also, for those worried about sizing, don't be! I'm a big guy, I measured as instructed and the jacket fits as well as one made by a local tailor.John McQuillen 16/10/2011 - From Scotweb

This Argyll jacket goes well beyond my expectations in terms of quality and looks.It was better than the picture!! I just loved the fine looking nickel plated buttons.This jacket is very professional and I look forward to using it often(i'm told I look very very sharp in this!!). Not getting this item would be a real shame. if you put the vest with it, the effect is outstanding and noticeable. VERY ELEGANT Steven Trudeau 20/11/2006
