Robin Mitchell studied Hotel Catering and Institutional Management at Napier University, Edinburgh. He made a logical step to further his catering career by setting up a walking tour company - The Cadies and Witchery Tours. His small ghostly business has gone from strength to strength - still providing light-hearted ghoulish tours around Scotland's Capital City.
Following the success of the ghastly evening walks a compilation of stories from the City's dark past - The Witchery Tales - was published in 1988 and two more guidebooks - About a Mile and The Secret Life of Edinburgh Castle - were launched in 1994. Dabbling in book publishing led him to produce and release four fifty-minute films - Adam Lyal's Royal Mile, Georgian Edinburgh, St. Andrews and The Ghosts of Scotland. Luath Press published Robin's first novel Grave Robbers on 1st November 1999.
Robin gained membership of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association after completing a course at the University of Edinburgh. He has accompanied countless visitors around the whole of Scotland and it's through his numerous guiding experiences that this book was born.
