Hi Brian, I clicked the "submit" button and shortly thereafter realized that east of Lake Ontario did not necessarily mean Canada. Sorry about that! So, welcome to a fellow North American and here's to tartan design!! Season's greetings!!

It really wasn't my advice, it's the calling of all tartan tradition that compels the variations. And let me add to the mix that my Mother was Canadian, from Hamilton. Her father Ken Nelson fought with the Black Watch (RHR) of Canada during WWII. I have family in Vancouver.

I think Gregory's advice was good and you have a very handsome tartan here.
By the way, I know the eastern end of Lake Ontario well, since I grew up in Toronto and lived in Kingston for a while when my husband and I were in university (Queen's and U. of T). Welcome to the world of tartan design from a fellow Canadian! Don't be afraid to try any design that looks good to you - I don't think you should have to follow any rules. Also, thank you for your kind comments on my crazy designs.
