Nelson of the Black Watch

Design ID: 13741

Title
(Provisional)
Nelson of the Black Watch
Designed By Gregory of Gunn
Brief Description Dedicated to my grandfather, Les Nelson, who fought with the 42nd Highlanders, Canadian Division, in Holland during WWII
What Inspired the Design? This tartan combines the elements of the Black Watch tartan and the Gunn clan tartan.
Why did you choose these colours?

Black

Seventeen Blue

Old Green

39j Magenta
Though not as bright as the accent band of the Gunn tartan (modern), this hue of magenta breaks the otherwise darkened tone of the black watch sett in the same way that the Gunn sett is broken.

Illinois Navy
What meaning does the number or arrangement of lines have, if any? The numerical arrangement is primarily based on the Black Watch tartan, with slight variation to add accent stripes to the double black railroads.
