Designed By Nicholas Kendall
Brief Description This is a design I've been working on for some time using tartan software from elsewhere. It is a second generation design, after I made an older one for myself I grew unhappy with it in time due to its lack of symbolism and its over simplicity. So after working on a second design I inverted the greens and blacks to get this design which I enjoy.
What Inspired the Design? Was partially inspired by the Stewart Black design.
Why did you choose these colours?

Black
Represents simplicity in the self.

Muted White
Represents the city Kendal in Northern England, which is built mostly of limestone.

Privet
Represents hard work and integrity.

Old Green
Represents the city Kendal in Northern England, famous for its mint cake.

Gold
Represents honour and loyalty.

Highland Purple
Represents duty.
What meaning does the number or arrangement of lines have, if any? Black on the outside represents the wearer as a whole, with everything else within them. The layer of Privet shows that even the self (represented by the second line of black) is part of what you do as you go about your day. Gold within Maroon represents honour as a part of duty.
Does it represent a group or event (business, club, wedding, etc.)? No answer given yet.
Is it associated with a locality (city, region, country etc.) It can be associated with Kendal, England.
How do you plan to use it (garments, furnishings, etc)? No answer given yet.
Do you expect to weave it, or produce it in other ways? Eventually.
