| For David Red Black & Gold Modified by Roibeard |
Roibeard on 17 Nov 11 7:36AM |
- | I liked the work you had wit this one, but thought it should have less black lines in it. Thus I reduced the lines and on the others added different [Expand] ideas of reds. I see you have commented on them. railway red is kinda towards the burgundy merlot colours. Usually a Carney as referred too. I did add green in one of them, I am unfamiliar if you are Irish or not-I put some Irish into the works however. I also have not the idea of what this particular design is for. This being said if I went in the wrong direction please navigate the boat in the correct course. All the best, Roibeard. |

Coincidentally, I had tried my design with American Rust and just couldn't seem to make it work. I love how it looks like a kilt passed down from [Expand] the Battle of Stirling Bridge. |

I'm honored you took time to work with my design. This one is simple & fun. The addition of the green and the thicker black stripes makes it look [Expand] completely different. |

I don't like this red as much. Too purply for my taste. You really simplified my design, though, and it works.

With a houndstooth or herringbone weave, this color pattern would make a very nice tweed.

Very nice McSprea. I just offered my takes of McCormick's colours for suggested weathered looks. All the best, Roibeard.

I'm the Executive Officer of the newly created Veteran's Club at my local college, and I got to thinking: most of us are Irish/Scottish by descent- [Expand] maybe we should get a tartan.... So here's the draft. School's colors are Red, White and Black; I added a maroon in there for contrasts' sake. |

- | Well, there it is; American Rust/Pastoral green...I think I like the look of it a little better than the previous Redwood/Pastel green that I had. [Expand] Still, does it look weathered? I'm close, I know it... lol |

- | very nice Lisa...
You have one error however. The looms carry two threads at a time, which means a three count thread is not probable. It would have [Expand] to be either two or four. All the best, Roibeard. |

It is very nicely done. I have only this to say...
As with pro colours, any extra colours beyound six will be added expenses to have woven.
All the [Expand] best, Roibeard. |

- | Yeah, that's just it- I really need to play around with it. Having problems finding "bleached" versions of the colors I used in the "dress" version. [Expand] I'll keep playing. |

Then David,
I would work on this one for your tartan. You may want to think about it's meaning to you, your clan,as well. I tink I saw in the [Expand] registration process they have that as part o the registry(?) Not sure don't quote me on that one. Ask those whom actually registered tartans. All the bet, Roibeard. |
