Description
Joanna Thomson is one of Scotland's leading jewellery designers. Born in Edinburgh, she makes jewellery in a workshop adjoining her home near Peebles in the borders of Scotland. Now a fellow of The Gemological Society, she has been creating her own designs in gold and silver for 25 years. She especially likes working with gold inset with semi-precious stones (rainbow moonstone is her favourite). Rooted in Art Nouveau, a style which was strongly influenced by Scottish artists in the early 20th century, she takes her inspiration from natural forms in the local countryside and her travels round Scotland. Each piece is presentation boxed and comes with a small tag of authenticity and carries the Edinburgh hallmark.
