Founder
This is the kilt I mostly wear myself. Read the reviews for what other purchasers have said in their own words, to see why!
It's the tiny details that make it feel so special to put on, like belt loops so well matched they're almost invisible.
Your kilt is for life
Our premium grade kilt is hand-made in Scotland from the finest materials. Recognised worldwide as kiltmakers of the highest distinction, Balmoral produce superb garments to give you many years of pride and pleasure. That's real value.
Instant charisma
The full eight yards means crisp deep pleats, for that real kilt swing as you move. Discover how your kilt makes you new friends wherever you go.
Technical Details
Your kilt combines hand-stitching and machine stitching for the best possible results, though if you prefer the slight uneven character full hand-stitching is available as an option. For a perfect hang, we fit two sturdy leather straps and buckles on the waist, and one on the hip. The front edge has two fringes in the authentic tradition (see image right) and we add two belt loops at the back so it all stays neat. We normally pleat 'to sett' which most kilt wearers prefer, but just ask for pleats to stripe or to horizontal at no extra charge! Or we offer military box pleats for a 50 pound surcharge.
Choose with confidence

My congratulations and thanks to Scotweb and Balmoral for a superb kilt and perfectly matching flashes. This was my first full wool eight-yard kilt and to my mind the quality is more than comparable to bespoke kilts made over here for at least twice the price; even allowing for the varying exchange rate the value for money was first class. The turn-round form order to delivery was excellent along with the delivery schedule updates that kept me fully informed as to its progress; a big plus there for Scotweb. The quality of the woollen tartan (Hedga 16oz) and its colours is great; giving an exceptionaly comfortable kilt wiht great swing that perfectly matches my evening plaid and a few wee 'add-ons' (tie, tam etc). So, congratualtions and thank you, Scotweb for a kilt that would make any Scot proud. I am looking forward to its first real outing. Andrew Stackpool J.James , Edinburgh

Scotweb was one of the only places who supplied the kilt in the tartan I wanted. I had to pay a little more but thought it worthwhile to get something that will last a lifetime than in some tartan that was a 2nd choice. The kilt came on the day that Scotweb estimated and was top quality. The size is perfect and the kilt looks just right and the flashes in the matching tartan are great. Overall Scotweb's service was great and I will definitely be ordering other products. nloken , Oslo, Norway

This is truly a very fine kilt! The craftmanship is very fine and the kilt has a true feel of quality. Measuring for the kilt proved more difficult than expected! My kilt is a tad to long and a tad to wide, so I would advise you to measure a bit shorter and tighter than you would think necessary from the instructions. I would not hesitate to order more kilts from Balmoral and Scotweb! The flashes are adequate, but not much more. It is necessary to "clean up" the fabric of the flashes before they can be used. Purchased as part of a complete outfit which was delivered a full ten days before the initial expected dispatch date. Derrick M. Piper56 , N.S. Canada

This is my first kilt, but I did a lot of research on kilts, so I knew what I wanted. Scotweb did not let me down when I saw my kilt for the first time. It is just what I wanted in every way and I am thoroughly happy with it. One surprise was that how the kilt is sooo extremely comfortable. Once I have it on I do not want to take it off and put my jeans back on. Great work Scoweb. By the way, the Scotweb team are second to none. They were so helpful and polite and were eager to please with what ever concern or change in my order. Thank you to all of them. drdili , melbourne australia

This is my second kilt I have purchased this year and in my other clan Tartan, I received my kilt 2 weeks earlier than expected, the quality is second to none, at the local clan gathering many people commented on the great quality and perfection of the kilt. I would highly recommend anyone to purchase one of your kilts as I have already done. Winged Spur , SC

I have waited for many years to finally be able to find a superbly tailored kilt, yet one which wasn't ridiculously priced. Scotweb and Balmorral have found truly perfect synergy with this incredible kilt. Comfort, fit, tailoring, rich Tartan quality: this kilt unabashedly has it all. At my last Highland gathering in Charleston, a local news crew approached me for an interview after seeing me with this kilt and my "Clan Jacobite" outfit, noting that they wanted to speak with and video a truly authentic looking Scotsman--what a perfect testimonial for Scotweb considering the other fine Scottish company I was in! This kilt does my Scottish blood very proud. Bravo! Mike Rowse , Dubai

I received my kilt earlier than expected, the communication from Scotwb was unbeatable. I aleady own one Cornish kilt which was considerably more expensive and so I was expecting to recieve something 'cheaper' in quality! I was very pleasantly surprised at the exceptional quality of this new kilt, I would recommend Scotweb to anyone, this is particularly important for me since I live in Dubai and so trusting the people I buy from over the internet is of critical importance. I highly recommend Scotweb and this kilt in particular. Mike Rowse, Dubai United Arab Emirates Farquharson , Collinsville, VA

After several delays which caused more than a little agonizing, my kilt arrived today and I could not be happier. The fit is perfect and the quality is second-to-none. It was well worth the wait for a garment of this quality. Highly recommended for anyone who wishes to look great and display your heritage proudly. Anonymous

I received my kilt package a full two month's before my wedding. When it arrived it was just what I wanted for my big day. I had a bout with diverticulitis and lost about 18 lbs that month, what a nightmare.I had to find someone in my home town to alter the kilt and coat, I did so and the day I got to where my kilt package was the best day in my life. I got married in the sierra foothills of CA. on a privet lake in May of 09. Thank you for the prompt dispatched, I will be look forward to my next perches of a 8 yard Irish Tipperary Co tartan kilt. Again you made my day very special. Thank you Eric Hanzelka Carmel Valley CA. Ziggy , NB Canada

Worth the wait. Even worth the 18% duty canada customs slapped on. When I first got this I brought it to my mom's (who is a seamstress) to just make sure was like it should be, and she was very impressed by the quality of the work, everything is finished nicely, including on the inside. I really like the tartan, as you can see there, it's in Wilson Modern from Lochcarron. Honestly, Balmoral Scotweb put out a good product, I have been wearing this around and people are really stunned by how well I pull it off, so maybe there is a bit of "me making the kilt look good"...but there is no doubt the kilt makes me look good too! :) The service was good as well, this was a time sensitive and they were more than willing to work with me to be reasonable and meet deadlines. Much thanks.
