By subtly changing the accessories worn with it, an Argyll (or Argyle) jacket can easily alter its formality, for either day or evening wear. With a flattering cut, and actual Scottish tailoring, the Argyll jacket will look great on men of all shapes and sizes. Rest assured this isn't a budget import - Balmoral Kilts and Highland Dress is respected worldwide as one of the finest producers of specialist Scottish tailoring. How we make it: Our Balmoral Argyll jackets are made from top quality Barathea 100% pure new wool cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes. All buttons have washer and ring fittings. When to wear it: The Argyll day/evening jacket suits almost any social occasion, such as dinners and Burns Suppers; balls, ceilidhs or other dances; weddings, graduations, or christenings; as well as Highland games or simply as general day wear. What to wear it with: The Argyll jacket is generally worn open, with a kilt in any tartan, an argyll 5 button vest and a belt and buckle. For daytime use you might wear your Argyll jacket with an plain collar shirt and self-coloured tie plus day-wear sporran (when footwear is a matter of choice). As more formal dress for evening events it is perhaps better worn with a wing collar and bow tie or rouche plus semi-dress sporran, and ghillie brogues for shoes. Your Choices: The classic Argyll jacket is supplied in 15oz cloth, and is available in a choice of colours. This jacket comes with shiny silver (nickel plate) buttons. |
