Description
This stylish pendant shows the Luckenbooth heart which has been used since the 16th Century. The name comes from the locking booths or small shops - a feature of Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Originally the heart shaped luckenbooth was given at weddings and engagements as a token of love. From the 18th century onwards they were worn to protect against evil spirits.
Available in 9ct Gold or Silver.
Ortak Jewellery is handcrafted on the beautiful Scottish island of Orkney. The designers use modern technology and dedicated research of history and fashion to create stunning gold and silver jewellery with a contemporary edge.
The jewellery is made by craftsmen using techniques and methods handed down over decades, and every piece is hand finished.
Please Note: Silver items are normally sent within about a week; gold items are made to order and can take several weeks.

- Adjust quantities in Shopping Basket (if required)
2. From Basket, proceed to Check Out
- Go to the Checkout (Checkout Now button, in Basket)
- Specify Delivery Address and Shipping Method
- Specify Payment details
- Confirm

This is a most beautiful piece, delicate and elegant. It was exactly what I had hoped for and, though I bought it as a gift for a relative who hasn't seen it yet, I know its new owner will get great pleasure from wearing it. It's flawless! Not too big, not too small, perfect with solid colour clothes, better to wear it not on bare skin, but on fabric, - as the pendant has no stones/gems, it's important to highlight it's lines and the shadows; let them play with the colour of the fabric :) i guess the Luckenbooth brooche is the same - flawless)) And besides - it appears to have the letter M together with the crown and the heart, so it's a double pleasure to wear this piece of jewellery!
