The inspiration for this panel is taken from a gesso panel designed by Charles, entitled The Wassail, which he designed as a frieze for one wall of the new 1900 extension of Miss Cranston's Ingram Street tea room in Glasgow. The opposite wall of the ladies' lunch room was decorated with a complimentary design by his wife entitled The May Queen. In the same year The Four were invited to take part in the eighth exhibition of the Vienna Secession, where they installed a room setting with the two gesso friezes taking pride of place on opposite walls.

These panels will be produced in a limited edition of 250. The Miss Cranston Collection.

The originals of the two panels in this collection formed the central parts of two companion pieces the Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh created as a frieze for the White Luncheon Room at Miss Cranston's Ingram Street tearoom in 1900. These panels will be produced in a limited edition of 250.
