As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
The unique cut goes well with the kilt or with blue jeans and dark T-shirt for ordinary wear. The soft leather is comfortable to wear and the inside pocket is a convenient feature.

This is a character garment which I love and it is unique in Australia.
The build quality and appearance are everything promised in the photos and write up
I do suggest buying a slightly bigger size though as the fitting is a little snug

There was some delay in the supplier's delivery of my 'Potain Waistcoat', but the wait was well worth it. The quality of the leather and workmanship of the tailor found in this piece is exceptional and makes for good value. When worn with my kilt (weathered Ferguson) and a 'Jacobite' shirt (unbleached cotton or green), the compliments have been numerous. Even when worn without the kilt, many fine comments have been recieved.
The two outer pockets, with flaps, are a good size and very functional. There is only one inside pocket (left breast). It too is sized to be functional. A bit of velcro makes the pocket more secure and less likely to gape.
Perhaps it is a pitty that the Brown leather version isn't available.
This style of waistcoat is supposed to be casual and loose fitting, but perhaps the three attachment loops on the toggles might have been a little shorter to permit a bit of overlap and a tighter closure.
