Although many of the ancient designs certainly had some spiritually significant meaning, these have often been lost to the ages. The continual looping of this design suggests themes of eternity and interconnectedness, and knots may have been made at one time to foil evil spirits. Interwoven figures of people and animals may have represented the interdependent nature of life- two or more knots laced together symbolize lovers, hunters and their prey, God and man and so on. Some knots were used as magical talismans for protection.

The watch came yesterday and it is beautiful. The picture doesn't do it justice! The chain is sturdy, so it can not be easily disconnected, or broken from the watch. I am going to get the back of the watch engraved. Our ancestory is Scotch/Irish and we are involved in living history. We reenact the Civil War all over the United States. This watch will be perfect for my husband's uniform's authenticity.... Thank you

i like this design alot, but i waswondering if there were any pictures that show what the inside looks like. Like if there are Roman Numerals or just numbers.
