Classic Prince Charlie Jacket and Vest in 4 colours
When my wife and I set the date for our wedding, there was no doubt as to how it was going to be, full formal Victorian for her and Prince Charlie for myself. The order was placed six weeks out, and SCOTWEB came through like the leaders they are. Delivery was on delayed by Customs, so make sure you have that cleared in advance for a rush order, but still was here in Texas with a couple of days to go. The quality, fit, and sheer character of the 8 yrd with fly plaid will stun everyone who sees you. The added touch of matching clan names on the accessories, which are of unbelievable high quality will only enhance the outfit. Besides, it gives you a chance to brag about your heritage at other people's asking for a change! Its been three weeks since the wedding and I still haven't had the compliments stop. Great job SCOTWEB and Balmoral for this one of a kind service and quality. The entire outfit is now my black tie go to and will be a family heirloom for my children's children's children. Slainte!! 4 stone plaid brooch in 5 colours

Casual Kilt
Just got my kilt today 7-8-09.They took the time to make sure the fit was just right and it is !Took about 2 months to get it,all the way to Texas.Great fit and workmanship.The belt and buckle look good as well. I LOVE IT ! Cant wait fot the Highland game's in Arlington Tx. in 2010 I will pass your name on. Tartan Flashes
A few years ago on a hot end-of-summer day, my wife and I attended a Celtic Festival in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA. It was there that she bought me my first kilt (American made). I wore it then and there (put my regular pants in a bag) and felt extremely comfortable. She promised to make me a set of flashes, which she did;.....that was the beginning of my love affair with kilts and everything "kiltish". Since that time, I had increased my kilt wardrobe with three other kilts (all American made, with flashes included). Then came the historical day I ventured onto the Scotweb site. I took the plunge and ordered a casual 5 yard Balmoral kilt (made in my family tartan) and, of course, ordered matching flashes. WOW,...was I happy. I've already ranted and raved about the kilt in a separate review (see Reviews: 5 yard casual Balmoral kilt,...it's there), but didn't realize that I could do the same about the flashes I ordered. These flashes are very well made with the same 16 oz. wool that my kilt was made from. The difference between the flashes I already had and these new ones from Scotweb was like drinking a watered down, cheap Scotch compared to an aged, single malt Scotch whisky. NO COMPARISON!!!!! The Balmoral Kilt, Traditional 8 Yard Kilt with Flashes
Yesterday, I received my traditional 8 yard Balmoral Kilt with flashes,....a full 2 weeks before the expected dispatch date. Since the day I first ordered it I would go to the "Member's Area" daily, to see the status of my order. I was like a child counting the days before Christmas. This past weekend was a national holiday here in the States (July 4th, Independence Day) and my access to the internet was interupted all weekend long. When I went to work on Monday I immediately went to the Scotweb site to check the status of my order. My heart took a leap when I saw that my kilt was dispatched on the previous Friday. I was glad that I took advantage of the "Priority International Courier", which allows you to track your order when it is dispatched (well worth the cost). The tracking option told me that my kilt was scheduled to arrive that very day. I quickly made an excuse to go home (shhhhh,....don't tell anyone) so I could be there when it arrived. When I finally got home there was a note on my door that told me I just missed the delivery (the Priority International Courier has a clause for a signature which doesn't allow a package to be left unattended, which, considering the cost of the kilt is very wise.) I then jumped in my car and made the trip to the delivery carrier office and waited for the truck to return from it's rounds of deliveries. When it finally returned, I retrieved my package, went out to the parking lot, opened it, and tried on my new kilt, right then and there!!! This is my second kilt ordered from Scotweb (my first being the 5 yard casual Balmoral kilt-16 oz. weight). Immediately, I noticed the differences. The pleats were tighter, the 11 oz. weight was about the same as my previous order (at least to my eye), the quality and craftsmanship were consistant with the casual kilt, but somehow looked smarter. I knew that the casual kilt would be my casual wear but this 11 oz. traditional 8 yard Balmoral Kilt would be my "dress-up-and-look-good" more formal wear. To be honest, both kilts are great for any function, but the 8 yard kilt has added more kick to my swagger. It pays to but the best. What are you waiting for???? Review date: 2009-07-07 |
