If you are looking for a substitute for an overcoat, this is not it. This cape is essentially a rain coat. Of course it will also double as a light jacket replacement when wearing your kilt. Being constructed like a rain coat, it will need a little extra care to prevent tearing the rubber-like lining. Diamond-shaped sleeve buttons especially could catch on the lining.
All in all though I found my cape to be quite nice and I look forward to wearing it with my kilt, weather permitting.

I received my Inverness waterproof cape a few weeks ago. It is absolutely the best raingear I have ever had to put over a suit or casual wear. Comfortable, keeps you dry, airy, just a wonderful garment.

A great piece of kit, now I will be dry when I get to any functions in the bad weather!
