About
The Sgian Dubh, or sock knife, first appeared in military use in around 1800 and is worn in kilted dress uniforms today. The knife has a traditional serrated blade and horn handle and is supplied gift boxed with an embossed leather sheath. The cap is adorned with a pewter stag's head design. Stags shed their antlers naturally, and no cruelty is involved in the making of this product.
As these are made from natural materials there will be some variation in colour and markings, guaranteeing a unique product every time.

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
