About
These stylish earrings show the Luckenbooth heart which has been used since the 16th Century. The name comes from the locking booths or small shops - a feature of Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Available in 9ct Gold or Silver. Originally the heart shaped luckenbooth was given, in the 16th century, at weddings and engagements as a token of love. From the 18th century onwards they were worn to protect against evil spirits. The name comes from the locking booths or small shops, a feature of Edinburghs Royal Mile.
