A pair of military style trews is an essential part of any Highland Dress wardrobe, making a splendid and sophisticated alternative to a kilt for many occasions (worn with the same jacket etc.) particularly by the officer class. In fact our trews in matching tartans are worn for formal occasions by the officers of the British Navy's flagship, HMS Ark Royal. Very few firms today are still able to make traditional fishtail-back military-style trews to traditional standards. But you can trust Scotweb to do the job properly, through our expert Balmoral tailors. Available in a massive range of pure new wool fabrics, or even polyviscose for easy care or those allergic to wool.
The made-to-measure, military-style trews with fishtail back are fully fitted and can be made to your exact specifications with regard to buttons and belt loops. You're able to wear a kilt belt, as the trouser loops are quite large, or optionally we'll add buttons for attaching braces.
Normally military trews are made without pockets, but you can also choose to have pockets if you prefer. Your trews will be lined to the knee, and have a zippered flies. They're fully tailored with a sloped hem to the foot. Please note any special requirements with regard to fitting and our tailors will try to accommodate you.

We try to make our site easy to use, even for a complex purchase like a kilt outfit. No membership is necessary. And we deliver worldwide.
The basic process is explained below. But if you find it hard for any reason, just contact us and we will be happy to either advise you or else place your order for you. (Calls from the UK or North America are free!)
We divide the buying process into two main stages:
1. Select products & Add to Basket
- Find your product
- Optional: specify fabric, sizes, etc.(Choose Options button, top right)
- Add item to your Basket (Add to Basket button, top right)
- (Repeat, to add more items)
- Adjust quantities in Shopping Basket (if required)
2. From Basket, proceed to Check Out
- Go to the Checkout (Checkout Now button, in Basket)
- Specify Delivery Address and Shipping Method
- Specify Payment details
- Confirm

This is my second pair of trews from Scotweb. While the first pair needed little alterations, this one is just perfect for quality and fit and exactly as I wanted with pockets, buttons for braces and no belt loops. Great.
