About
I'm proud to put my name to this, as it's everything that's best about Scotweb. We don't do budget imported kilts like our imitators, because they're an insult to the true heritage of Scotland. This is the real thing, produced to outstanding standards. Astonishing value.Dr Nick Fiddes, Founder
This great value kilt will be made to measure for you by Scotland's leading kiltmakers. And it is produced in an excellent range of popular tartans in 100% Pure New Wool from one of Scotland's largest and most respected weavers of traditional quality tartans.
So how can we do it at this astonishing price? Well, we've slightly reduced the yardage of fabric, but even the most experienced kilt experts would be hard pressed to notice due to the great quality heavy weight fabric we've specified. Plus we've driven a hard bargain on your behalf for both the fabric and kiltmaking, thanks to the volume of orders we can guarantee as the world's leading supplier of kilts and tartans. And, finally, we've cut our own margins to the bone, to make sure you simply won't find better value.
But the one thing we won't stint on is quality. Unlike most competitors we never sell copycat imports. Instead each kilt is exquisitely made in Scotland to your measurements from 16oz 100% pure new wool, with quality components and superb tailoring. Accept no imitation!
We use a full seven yards (approx, according to the tartan sett and your dimensions) of your chosen fabric, then just like our luxury kilts we fit two leather straps and buckles on the waist, and one on the hip. The front edge has two fringes, and we include two belt (or sporran strap) loops at the back.
Essential Scotweb is the new name for Scottish value, with no compromise in traditional quality. All Essential Scotweb products are made to the highest specifications by local specialists. No frills - just exceptional prices.
The new Essential Scotweb range promises authentic products you can trust at prices you won't believe.

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.

While I have the traditional eight yard kilt, I ordered a second in the same tartan. The eight yard for formal ware and the essential seven yard is perfect for highland games, and the warmer weather events here in Australia. If you are looking for a great looking kilt that you can wear anywhere, even on a hot day then I recommend this one. Choose from 60 quality fabrics, including:
Royal Stewart Tartan
Black Watch Tartan
Lindsay Tartan
Gordon Dress Tartan
MacKenzie Tartan
Wallace Tartan
Campbell of Argyll Tartan
Robertson Tartan
MacDonald Tartan
Douglas Blue Tartan
