This is more than a matter of principle. The truth is that copycat imports never look or feel right to me. We want you not only to look the part, but also to feel fantastic when you wear our products. So I'm delighted to recommend these brogues because they're locally made for us to my own high standards from top quality materials. Every inch of a full highland outfit is about true quality and detail and these Ghillie Brogues are no different. This traditional pair of highland shoes is perfect for formal occasions. The 100% leather uppers are tastefully detailed and the extra long laces add an extra flair that you just won't get from your average formal shoes.
The laces are really the most noticeable detail in a pair of Ghillie Brogues. Extra long, they are wrapped around your ankle and tied at the outside of the calf - with the extra lace and toggle dangling. Together with the kilt hose, flashes and Sgian Dubh, there won't be a better pair of legs at any formal event.
You'll be wearing these with a traditional kilt outfit, including the thick hose, so we recommend that you allow for an extra half size when ordering.

We try to make our site easy to use, even for a complex purchase like a kilt outfit. No membership is necessary. And we deliver worldwide.
The basic process is explained below. But if you find it hard for any reason, just contact us and we will be happy to either advise you or else place your order for you. (Calls from the UK or North America are free!)
We divide the buying process into two main stages:
1. Select products & Add to Basket
- Find your product
- Optional: specify fabric, sizes, etc.(Choose Options button, top right)
- Add item to your Basket (Add to Basket button, top right)
- (Repeat, to add more items)
- Adjust quantities in Shopping Basket (if required)
2. From Basket, proceed to Check Out
- Go to the Checkout (Checkout Now button, in Basket)
- Specify Delivery Address and Shipping Method
- Specify Payment details
- Confirm

I was initially nervous about the quality and comfort of the "Essential" ghillie brogues, but I wanted a budget-priced shoe since I'll only be wearing them once or twice a year to "black tie" affairs. They FAR exceeded my expectations! The quality, materials, and workmanship are equal to shoes that sell for twice their price in US department stores and they are extremely comfortable. Now I'm trying to think of excuses to wear them more often! [in the photo I've tied the right at the side with a square knot and the left in front with a bow to see which way I like better]
