The Classic Prince Charlie Jacket and Vest is a classic and timeless style. Suitable for formal occasions such as weddings and balls, the Prince Charlie Jacket is designed to flatter any shape whist keeping the full length of the kilt on show.
This exceptional jacket is made in Scotland by Balmoral Kilts, who are respected worldwide as one of the finest producers of specialist Scottish tailoring. The tartans used are made form top quality Barathea 100% pure new wool cloth with the lapels made from satin to complement a formal look.
The jacket is designed in such a way to allow for regular cleaning without any reduction in the quality or look of the jacket. This quality makes the Prince Charlie Jacket a lifetime investment.
When to wear it: The classic Prince Charlie 'Coatee' Jacket and Vest (waistcoat) is the traditional outfit for black tie formal evening wear events such as dinners, balls, or dances. Today it is also widely worn at daytime weddings, by the groom and his ushers as well as by male wedding guests, as well as special events such as graduations.
What to wear it with: The Prince Charlie is traditionally worn with an 8 yard kilt in any tartan, kilt hose, and ghillie brogues. It is also traditional to wear a Full Dress Sporran with the Prince Charlie (and vice versa). To complete the look wear a black bow tie, or choose a rouche or cravat if wearing it with an argyll 5 button vest. This jacket has classic satin lapels and braided epaulettes and comes with shiny silver (nickel plate) buttons.

This is a quality product; an excellent example of formal attire. I recently attended a formal reception, and this Prince Charlie could not have been more suitable. I was concerned that a UK 42-Regular sized Prince Charlie might be a bit tight on my USA 42-Regular frame, but it was not. I was very pleased with the overall fit; indeed it was quite comfortable. This is a nice good quality jacket/vest combination. Sizing wasn't to difficult, and the garments fit just fine. This jacket and vest holds the same fine quality as my high street black tie jacket and I am certain that it will provide me with years of pleasure!

Beautifully made, good quality pure wool and will last a lifetime. It fits perfectly and looks the business. Certainly a lot more impressive than your run of the mill dinner jacket; (tux for the benefit of our American cousins) so you won't get asked to park anyones car or fetch some drinks if you're wearing this.
