About this section

While Highland dress can be worn at many different occasions, it's important that you choose the correct type of dress for the right event and this is also true of sporrans. Specific sporrans should be worn dependent on the style of Highland dress being worn.

The dress sporran is the most ornate sporran and should be worn with formal dress such as the Prince Charlie Outfit. Dress sporrans are made of leather with a full animal skin front - usually sealskin - and have a metal cantle at the top.

A semi-dress sporran is chosen when semi-formal dress is being worn and can be identified by a leather flap and more casual look. It is the most versatile of sporrans.

And a day sporran, as the name suggests, is worn during the day, or at more casual occasions. It's made from leather, without any skin or fur, and is a very practical choice.

Whatever type of dress you are wearing, browse through our large range of sporrans to find something that suitable. From casual to decorative, Scottish to Irish and everything inbetween, we have something to suit every type of outfit.

And so that you can take a dram with you wherever you go, we also have a choice of sporran flasks.
