Your Heirloom KIlt
Every kilt is hand-stitched, with precise machine stitching used in invisible but time-consuming areas for the finest results. Full hand-stitching is available if you prefer. For a perfect hang, we fit two sturdy leather straps and buckles on the waist, and one on the hip. The front edge has two fringes in the authentic tradition, and we add two near-invisible belt loops at the back to keep it all neat. We normally pleat 'to sett' as most kilt wearers prefer, but you can ask for pleating to stripe or to horizontal (at no extra charge) or military box pleats are optional. Whatever your choices, you'll enjoy wearing a kilt to impress even the most demanding expert.

We try to make our site easy to use, even for a complex purchase like a kilt outfit. No membership is necessary. And we deliver worldwide.
The basic process is explained below. But if you find it hard for any reason, just contact us and we will be happy to either advise you or else place your order for you. (Calls from the UK or North America are free!)
We divide the buying process into two main stages:
1. Select products & Add to Basket
- Find your product
- Optional: specify fabric, sizes, etc.(Choose Options button, top right)
- Add item to your Basket (Add to Basket button, top right)
- (Repeat, to add more items)
- Adjust quantities in Shopping Basket (if required)
2. From Basket, proceed to Check Out
- Go to the Checkout (Checkout Now button, in Basket)
- Specify Delivery Address and Shipping Method
- Specify Payment details
- Confirm

We have three main ways of giving you extra information:

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.

I cannot explain the utter amazement when I received my Balmoral Kilt, right out of the box it was a thing of beauty, it fit as others have already said "like a glove", the material, craftsmenship and appearance are all top notch. I received my Balmoral Kilt today , it was awesome . The quality was excellent , fit like a glove and is sure to last for many years to come. The staff was more than helpful and gracious with all my questions, and as I needed it for a special occasion they were more than happy to oblige and delivery was prompt ( 2 days ) and it was here 4 days early . I would highly recommend Scotweb for anyone wanting a quality kilt , or any of their products that is sure to provide many years of wear , I will for sure use them for future purchases of fine Scottish products . Recieved my Balmoral kilt today and am well pleased. The fit was perfect. The quality of the work was superb. Some makers skimp on buckles and straps, but these looked great. Chose Caledonia District Modern in 16 oz Locharron. The fabric is sumptuous with rich colors and a smooth hand that looks perfect when worn. The Balmoral is an excellent value for a formal kilt. I'm looking forward to wearing it to this season's highland games.

I was amazed to find a clearance list kilt in my unusual measurements and a tartan I liked, but there it was, so I bought it. It is a well made and attractive kilt, fits well and as the measurements described. Stitching, material, finish, and fittings are solid and clean. All in all a very well made kilt.

My congratulations and thanks to Scotweb and Balmoral for a superb kilt and perfectly matching flashes. This was my first full wool eight-yard kilt and to my mind the quality is more than comparable to bespoke kilts made over here for at least twice the price; even allowing for the varying exchange rate the value for money was first class. The turn-round form order to delivery was excellent along with the delivery schedule updates that kept me fully informed as to its progress; a big plus there for Scotweb. The quality of the woollen tartan (Hedga 16oz) and its colours is great; giving an exceptionaly comfortable kilt wiht great swing that perfectly matches my evening plaid and a few wee 'add-ons' (tie, tam etc). So, congratualtions and thank you, Scotweb for a kilt that would make any Scot proud. I am looking forward to its first real outing. Andrew Stackpool

Scotweb was one of the only places who supplied the kilt in the tartan I wanted. I had to pay a little more but thought it worthwhile to get something that will last a lifetime than in some tartan that was a 2nd choice. The kilt came on the day that Scotweb estimated and was top quality. The size is perfect and the kilt looks just right and the flashes in the matching tartan are great. This is my first kilt, but I did a lot of research on kilts, so I knew what I wanted. Scotweb did not let me down when I saw my kilt for the first time. It is just what I wanted in every way and I am thoroughly happy with it. One surprise was that how the kilt is sooo extremely comfortable. Once I have it on I do not want to take it off and put my jeans back on. Great work Scoweb. By the way, the Scotweb team are second to none.
