But if you want to really look the part at a more formal occasion, you’ll probably want many or most of the traditional accessories. We divide the buying process into two main stages:

I received my kilt package a full two month's before my wedding. When it arrived it was just what I wanted for my big day. I had a bout with diverticulitis and lost about 18 lbs that month,what a nightmare.I had to find someone in my home town to alter the kilt and coat, I did so and the day I got to where my kilt package was the best day in my life. I got married in the sierra foothills of CA. on a privet lake in May of 09. Thank you for the prompt dispatched, I will be look forward to my next perches of a 8 yard Irish Tipperary Co tartan kilt. Worth the wait. Even worth the 18% duty canada customs slapped on. When I first got this I brought it to my mom's (who is a seamstress) to just make sure was like it should be, and she was very impressed by the quality of the work, everything is finished nicely, including on the inside. I really like the tartan, as you can see there, it's in Wilson Modern from Lochcarron. Honestly, Balmoral Scotweb put out a good product, I have been wearing this around and people are really stunned by how well I pull it off, so maybe there is a bit of "me making the kilt look good"...but there is no doubt the kilt makes me look good too! :) The service was good as well, this was a time sensitive and they were more than willing to work with me to be reasonable and meet deadlines. My traditonal 8 yard Balmoral kilt is by far the most expensive single garment I have ever purchased, it is also the best value for money garment I have and easily the highest quality. I cannot fault anything about it at all. The staff at Scotweb have been fantastic and very knowledgable in helping out an ignorant Englishman with no apparent family connection to Scotland at all. As there is no Scots connection and there was no tartan in my family name I went for Spirit of Scotland Modern as my tartan of choice, it is beautiful. The kilt itself is just so comfortable and a very substantial and well made garment. My initial nervousness on first wearing it out in public soon dissappeared as I felt that great confidence boosting "swish". And I can honestly say I have never had so much attention from the opposite sex on a night out in town (and that despite my good lady being with me). A couple of people have asked me why on Earth I would want a kilt when I have no Scots blood in me at all, well all I can say is that until you try it don't knock it, it is the most comfortable thing I have worn, love it to bits. Okay I'm not Scottish, not even remotely Celt by the look of it, but I don't care, I will wear my kilt with pride. Many thanks Scotweb.

I just recieved my Kilt, it arrived a little late, had a few delays, but it was well worth it. It is of the most excellent quality, and my boyd tartan is the most beautiful one in the world to my eyes, and also, my flashes make me stand out, as all of my companions that are kilted have a standard color flash.

Yesterday, I received my traditional 8 yard Balmoral Kilt with flashes,....a full 2 weeks before the expected dispatch date. Since the day I first ordered it I would go to the "Member's Area" daily, to see the status of my order. I was like a child counting the days before Christmas. This past weekend was a national holiday here in the States (July 4th, Independence Day) and my access to the internet was interupted all weekend long. When I went to work on Monday I immediately went to the Scotweb site to check the status of my order. My heart took a leap when I saw that my kilt was dispatched on the previous Friday. I was glad that I took advantage of the "Priority International Courier", which allows you to track your order when it is dispatched (well worth the cost). The tracking option told me that my kilt was scheduled to arrive that very day. I quickly made an excuse to go home (shhhhh,....don't tell anyone) so I could be there when it arrived. When I finally got home there was a note on my door that told me I just missed the delivery (the Priority International Courier has a clause for a signature which doesn't allow a package to be left unattended, which, considering the cost of the kilt is very wise.) I then jumped in my car and made the trip to the delivery carrier office and waited for the truck to return from it's rounds of deliveries. When it finally returned, I retrieved my package, went out to the parking lot, opened it, and tried on my new kilt, right then and there!!! This is my second kilt ordered from Scotweb (my first being the 5 yard casual Balmoral kilt-16 oz. weight). Immediately, I noticed the differences. The pleats were tighter, the 11 oz. weight was about the same as my previous order (at least to my eye), the quality and craftsmanship were consistant with the casual kilt, but somehow looked smarter. I knew that the casual kilt would be my casual wear but this 11 oz. traditional 8 yard Balmoral Kilt would be my "dress-up-and-look-good" more formal wear. To be honest, both kilts are great for any function, but the 8 yard kilt has added more kick to my swagger. It pays to but the best. What are you waiting for????

When my wife and I set the date for our wedding, there was no doubt as to how it was going to be, full formal Victorian for her and Prince Charlie for myself. The order was placed six weeks out, and SCOTWEB came through like the leaders they are. Delivery was on delayed by Customs, so make sure you have that cleared in advance for a rush order, but still was here in Texas with a couple of days to go. The quality, fit, and sheer character of the 8 yrd with fly plaid will stun everyone who sees you. The added touch of matching clan names on the accessories, which are of unbelievable high quality will only enhance the outfit. Besides, it gives you a chance to brag about your heritage at other people's asking for a change! Its been three weeks since the wedding and I still haven't had the compliments stop. Beautifully made, good quality pure wool and will last a lifetime. It fits perfectly and looks the business. Certainly a lot more impressive than your run of the mill dinner jacket; (tux for the benefit of our American cousins) so you won't get asked to park anyones car or fetch some drinks if you're wearing this.

Does everything it needs to do. If you export to the US, they substitute bovine (cow) fur, which feels and looks nice regardless. Very pretty shade of gray. But regarding the strap and measurements. my proper waist is a 31.5, my waist where i wear pants is a 33. I felt that the small chain which they recommend up to a 34 was too small. Go with the bigger one-- its always easier to make it smaller than larger.

Wore these for the first time on New Year's Eve to a dance. I was expecting to come home with a few blisters, but not one, they turned out to be so comfortable giving me no problems all night, What can I say other than brillant.One small problem ! had to do a Goggle search to find out how to lace them !!!!!

Thank you for your prompt and friendly service with exchanging a pair of Brogues which I had purchased as a gift for my son. I had ordered the incorrect size and needed to return them for the proper size. We had an event at which he needed to wear them, but I was concerned that you would not receive the returned pair and ship the replacement pair in sufficient time for him to have. To make it work, your staff sent me a pair while the original pair was in transit back to you. We have received the replacement pair and are in fine shape! Never having worn a bow tie since I was a little boy I was reluctant to do so. But with all the rest of the outfit it just fills the bill. Since it toop is adjustable it fits just fine.

I got these in lovat blue. They look a little green to my eye, though. I've found that they work better folded over twice, at least for me.

Comfortable, they wear well, good colour selection and, they don't stretch out when wearing my sgian dubh. They regain their original fit with each wash.

Anybody who hangs a kilt needs this hanger. It is easy to use, accommodates the entire kilt, and keeps it hanging neatly. No more messing with make-shift hangers for me. This item is a must for the kilt !

I own five kilts and made my own kilt hangers out of heavy duty coat hangers, yardstick rulers cut down to size, and office binder clips. Although they worked OK, they were a pain in the neck to use, as well as store. A good friend showed me his Kilt Hanger from SCOTWEB. I immediately ordered five. What a difference!!! They are extremely well made with size adjustable holders, and look smart,...but most important THEY DO THE JOB. Now I hang coats on the old hangers, used the yardstick rulers for kindling, and returned the binder clips to my office (shhhh,...don't tell anyone i borrowed office supplies). But you'll tell everyone about SCOTWEB Kilt Hangers. They're great!!!
