Will you price match any competitor?

We will price-match any respectable competitor. Just one company is excluded from this policy. We will not price-match any outlet owned or supplied by Surinder, Galab and Dildar Singh, aka the Gold Brothers, or simply the ‘tartan tat’ merchants. This includes ‘Heritage of Scotland‘, ‘Scotland Shop Direct‘, ‘John Morrison Kilts‘, and their other front companies.

The reason for this exclusion is that even apparently genuine goods they supply are often poor quality copies of the authentic originals that we offer. These are typically made from what we consider shoddy materials, imported from cheap-labour economies, with no certainty of historical accuracy for example when it comes to tartans. Even where a particular product may carry an apparently reliable brand name, or use the photograph of the genuine article, we cannot trust that the item supplied will be what is expected.

We also have serious ethical problems with the damage their approach to business has done to authentic Scottish crafts and trades. And we have real Health & Safety concerns about some of their products. We therefore exclude all their goods from our price promise.
