Which are the best of the different bagpipe makers you supply?
All the pipes we supply are competition quality bagpipes hand-made by traditional Scottish specialists we know and trust. We will never sell the cheap imported copies that neither look nor sound like the real thing (so if you’re shopping around, be careful!).
Each maker has their own characteristic techniques and style, which result in small tonal differences, as well as their own decorative variations. And price variations between the makers might also reflect their reputation (which isn’t always the same as their quality, but might be for good reason). We find it hard to recommend one as ‘better’ than the other.
If you ask around amongst pipers you’ll get different opinions about which producer might suit you best. We try to include all the descriptive information we can on our web site. But if you need specific information about particular sets in which you’re interested, please ask further.
