When will I be charged for my purchase?
When you place your order on the web site, your credit card will be validated and the expected sum temporarily ‘reserved’ on your account. But the actual charge will be placed only once our office team has checked your order details, at which point you will receive a detailed statement itemising your order and charges.
Customers occasionally ask why we do not charge on dispatch, like retailers of mass-manufactured boxed products. But most of our sales are made to order, often with slim profit margins due to our competitive pricing. To keep our prices so low, we cannot afford customer cancellations that we cannot then easily resell. So we ask that payment is made in full at the point that we confirm your order. This is normal under British trading laws and practices.
