License for Scotweb to produce

When you save a tartan design using this system, you accept our legally binding Terms and Conditions. Amongst other things this gives Scotweb Marketing Ltd the exclusive right to weave, license, or otherwise use or produce your design commercially. We will never abuse this by imposing unreasonable restrictions and our pricing is highly competitive.

If you wish to use our system to design a tartan that you would like to have produced by any other manufacturer, please contact us in advance. We will be happy to negotiate highly competitive terms (compared with professional tartan design fees) to transfer our rights to your full ownership.

Our standard terms license us to weave any tartan designed within this system, for any customer. In most cases this is unlikely except on behalf of you or your associates. But we reserve the right to do so. This is not just for commercial advantage, but because we consider tartan historically to be a postitive and inclusive symbol for those who seek common affinity within a unifying heritage, rather than a means to isolate or to exclude others from wearing a particular pattern.

Note that whenever we weave a tartan you design, you will earn a royalty on the weaving charge, which will be allocated to your Scotweb member’s account in the form of Scotweb Points.
