Reclaiming VAT on export

by CLAN Customer Service

If you are browsing our sites from a country outside Europe, our systems should recognise this automatically and show you prices in your own local currency, and without including VAT. (If the currency you see is wrong, change it in the Currency menu on the lower-left).

If you want us to deliver your purchase to a UK or EU address, which you then intend to export personally to outside the EU, then we are obliged by law to charge VAT on the sale. And nor are you allowed to reclaim this at Customs later. To qualify for a VAT refund you must pick up the goods from our premises in person. Sorry, that is just the law.

There is also a scheme for members of the UK armed forces to purchase goods exempt from VAT, when they are to be delivered to a BFPO address. If you think you qualify for this, please approach your commanding officers, as you need to provide us with the appropriately completed documentation from them before we can action this.
