Description
Luxury hand-knitted spread-collar ladies' cardigan in a traditional Aran pattern. This 100% pure new wool cardigan has long sleeves, two pockets, and a (ladies' side) buttoned front with real leather buttons.
If you're used to chain store knitwear, think again. You just don't find the quality of our Traditional Hand Knitters woollens nowadays, even in the most exclusive luxury outlets. Each garment is individually made the old way, on knitting needles. Our local team of skilled makers work in their own homes, to ancient patterns. Your knitter's name and location (in Scotland) is hand-written on the garment label.
We use only top quality materials. The strong thick wool is a real pleasure to put on, and will keep you and your loved ones safe and warm in the most severe weather. And it won't wear through in a few months as cheap garments can but will be a lasting favourite for years. Care for it properly, and this is a garment for a lifetime.
We stock popular sizes, mostly in ecru (white). All sizes and colours are available to order. Because each garment is hand-made, delays may occur due to illness etc. Also, the largest sizes may take a little longer as the garment weight is simply more tiring to knit and so requires more breaks.
These really are 'like your granny used to knit you', and unbelievable value for the quality of garment. Have we said enough?

The basic process is explained below. But if you find it hard for any reason, just contact us and we will be happy to either advise you or else place your order for you. (Calls from the UK or North America are free!)
We divide the buying process into two main stages:
1. Select products & Add to Basket
- Find your product
- Optional: specify fabric, sizes, etc.(Choose Options button, top right)
- Add item to your Basket (Add to Basket button, top right)
- (Repeat, to add more items)
- Adjust quantities in Shopping Basket (if required)
2. From Basket, proceed to Check Out
- Go to the Checkout (Checkout Now button, in Basket)
- Specify Delivery Address and Shipping Method
- Specify Payment details
- Confirm

We have three main ways of giving you extra information:

I finally received my cardigan on September 28. It was ordered in June. I will say it is beautiful and have provided a picture. The quality is wonderful. The down side is the wait. I was told that somehow my order was overlooked. I had to contact the company to get some status update. I appreciate the workmanship involved but I was disappointed in the overall service in trying to obtain the product. It may have been one of those things. The final product and craftsmenship...or should I say craftwomenship..is wonderful..worthy the cost.. Anonymous

WOW!,WOW!, WOW! - I have just received my cardigan and I heartily agree with the other reviewers. The quality and obvious skill which goes into making this cardigan is evident in every detail. When I placed the order I had high hopes and can easily say that even I am very impressed. I know this sounds rather gushy over an item of clothing but I have not been able to find anything of the same quality anywhere else. I am very glad I found this website - keep up the good work. I have my new cardigan on as I write this. I absolutely adore it (Maryland is bloody cold at this time of year). I am a transplanted product of the UK, and have been here for 44 years. This wonderful cardigan reminds me of my childhood (my father was born in the Shetland Islands (Lerwick), and I am about to order another. Please tell Mrs. Burn (who knitted it) that I could not be more happy with it. My Anglo girlfriends will be copying me (if they have any sense). Just recieved my Ness cardigan this morning,all I can say is WOW beautiful,the work is excellent it took my breath away.The skill in this knitting all I can say is ,you will definately not be dissapointed I am already tempted to get another myself I just can,t decide on a colour.
